WARNING

Hey folks just thought I should let you know that there has been a spate of dog thefts in Blantyre supposidly!! The theifs are stunning the owners then taking off with the dogs!!! Pretty shocking if it's true so be careful might be wise to use the long leads you can wrap round yourself if your out alone, also if people in cars stop you for directions don't go right up keep a safe distance or just ignor them! It may also just be an urban myth but better safe than sorry.

Torwood walk: New Walk

Myself and Steven tried out a new walk today. "Not very impressed with it". No distinguishable pathways and no signing, more or less just a wander around the woodland, and no T-Bar at the end.

Not as good as some of the walks we have done, so personally we would not recommend this walk.

Will put up some pictures later on.

Queen Elizabeth Forest Park was first designated as a Forest Park by the Forestry Commission in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

From the east shore of Loch Lomond to the rugged terrain of Strathyre the Forest Park encompasses mountain and moorland, forest and woodland, rivers and lochs.

It is home to a rich variety of animal and plant life. For many of our visitors the attraction of the park lies in the peace and quiet, the magnificent views and the wide range of ...

The majority of this route is on forest roads, however the steepest section follows a rougher track which has loose surface material in places. It is safer to walk up this section and we therefore suggest that the route is walked in a clockwise direction. Enjoy the walk along the edge of Achray Forest before making the steep climb through the forest to Lime Craig. The views from the top are superb. Glen Finglas sits to the north and to the south Flanders Moss and the Carse of Stirling and onto ...

We are going to try a new walk.

Route

A short 300m path starts at Lochlands Loan, just off the A9,under the viaduct arches. The

path is through a kissing gate immediately to the right as you turn onto Lochlands Loan.

Continue along this path for 300m to reach a vantage point above the weir, with views to the

river and church.

Me and Steven will try this walk out first to make sure it's suitable for our dogs. If anyone has been this walk you can let us know.
